| Compact evergreen shrub, excellent as a hedge, foundation, or planted in masses. Preferes shade to partial shaded location. Will tolerate some morning sun. Filtered tree shade or a north or East exposure is ideal. Hardy to zone 7. Grows to about 4 feet tall and wide. Follow a regular watering schedule until completely established. Keep evenly moist, but not wet in all seasons. Mulch to conserve moisture. Fertilize when growth begins in spring with a fertilizer for acid loving plants. Water after application. Pinch tip growth from after flowering until midsummer to maintain a compact plant with maximum flower production. Cut out old woody stems to rejuvenate plants. |
