| Resembling its ancestor, Rhododendron nakaharai , this hardy evergreen azalea is a very late bloomer, continuing well into midsummer. Habit is spreading, low, and compact, making it a very suitable ground cover or hanging basket. Flowers of Andante are salmon-pink and showy. Filtered light is best.
Plant as you would any azalea: high and in well-drained, acid soil, rich in organic matter. North Tisbury hybrids have been produced by Mrs. Polly Hill on Martha's Vineyard since 1957. |
