| Bulbous herbaceous perennial native to South Africa. Flowers are light blue and white with deep yellow inside, urn to bell-shaped. Usually bears a single id-green strap-like leaf, sometimes with a pretty faint maroon mottled pattern. Can be planted in the border in warm climates, or in containers. Frost tender, requiring minimum temperatures of 36 to 39F. Prefer sunny location and light, well drained soil. Best planted in autumn. Water well during the growing season, sparsely the rest of the year. |
