Amaryllis belladonna
( Kimberley Naked Ladies )
| This is not the plant with the common name Amaryllis; look for Hippeastrum. Deep pink, six-petaled, lily-shaped flowers with white centers are 2 to 4 inches long, and grow in clusters atop a strong, purplish flower stalk. Strap-shaped leaves grow basally and die back before the flower stalk emerges. Though division is important, do so only when extremly crowded. It is not unusual for this plant not to flower the year after it was divided. |
| Important Info : Unlike other bulbs, plant this bulb so tip is just below the soil. |
