| 'Stanford Scarlet' is a cormous perennial with leaves that are sword-shaped, up to 39 inches long. Up to 12 tubular, scarlet flowers, to 1 3/4 inches long, bloom on unbranched spikes in late spring or summer. Best grown in areas with little or no frost. Protect with a dry winter mulch if there is frost. Rarely has problems with diseases or pests. |
