| Sorbus americana is a small tree or shrub with a short trunk, spreading branches, and a narrow, open crown. Foliage is compound-pinnate dark green, the flowers are white corymbs, the fruits are small and dramatic orange-red. Prefers very moist soils, natural habitat is cold bogs and swamps, on dry soil it will survive, but stunted. Pretty specimen in the right setting.
