| This lovely plant, traditionally associated with Hawaii, is usually grown as a houseplant on the mainland. Leaves are glossy and dark green, to
6 inches long, and are ovate, with a finely toothed edge. Large, delicate blooms with five petals reach up to 6 inches across. Those of 'Kinchen's Yellow' are lemon yellow with white interiors. Distinctive long, yellow stamens extend out from the center. Commonly grown outside year round in frost free areas. May be pruned to keep size in check. |
