| L. tsingtauense is a true species lily with hollow stems and hairless leaves, mostly in 2 whorls. Bears loose umbels of unscented, upright, trumpet-shaped, maroon marked, orange-red flowers. Lime-tolerant, but best in moist, acidic soil, grow in full sun or partial shade. E.China, Korea.
Deadhead spent flowers, but wait until stems and leaves turn yellow to cut back to within a few inches of the ground. Spring and fall are the best time to transplant, even though they can be transplanted any time. Provide ample moisture while flowering, but can take periods of drought otherwise. |
