| Shrubby perennials. Leaves are silver-green, 5 to 7 palmate, with lance-shaped leaflets to 1/2 inch long. Grown for their brilliant display of blue, with a white spot, sweet pea shaped flowers on tall spikes in spring and early summer. Wonderful cottage garden additions, eye-catching when planted in large masses. Other than requiring good drainage, not fussy about soil. Can start from seed in winter or early spring. |
