| Abies nordmanniana is a stately fir tree, usually growing 40 to 60 feet in height when cultivated, but up to 200 feet in the wild. The lustrous dark black-green needles densely cover the branches. The large 5- to 6-inch cones are reddish brown, cylindrical or tapered somewhat. Grows best in slightly acidic soils in full to part sun. 'Aureovariegata' has yellowish-green needles. |
