| This is a low and compact shrubby perennial. Leaves are medium green and palmate, with inversely spear-shaped leaflets. Grown for their display of pale blue to red-purple sweet pea shaped flowers on spikes in early summer. Wonderful cottage garden additions, eye-catching when planted in large masses. Other than requiring good drainage, not fussy about soil. This plant grows best where summers are cool. Can start from seed in winter or early spring. |
