| Aristolochia durior is a vigorous, twining vine, often used in the past for front porch trellises. It can grow 20-30' covering arbor, pergola or fence in a single season. Leaves are dark green, 4-10" long with a heart-shape, quite attractive.
Flowers are unusually shaped, resembling their namesake, a Dutchman's Pipe, yellow green, and 1 1/2" long. Does well in any moist, well drained soil. Native from Pennsylvania to Georgia, Minnesota to Kansas. |
