| The cultivar, 'Plumosa' grows to 20-30 feet tall and 10-12 feet wide. Produces upright branches, compact, cone shaped, short, soft needles and frondlike, feathery twig structure with bright green foliage. Carefully prune, a big shrub. Unpruned, a tree. Slow growing at first.
C. pisifera is a medium evergreen, under cultivation it usually does not exceed 20-30 feet tall, but with age will grow higher. Has a spread of 20 feet. Produces spine-tipped, scalelike dark green leaves, lighter beneath. Has rather loose, open growth. Good in large Oriental gardens. Prune heavily to force new growth |
