|The cultivar, 'Cayenne Long Red' is a very hot pepper good for making crushed red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper. An 1828 heirloom variety. Mature in 70-75 days. Great container or border plant.
C. annuum seeds must be started indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. Sow the seeds in sandy soil and give them warmth. Transplant 12-16 inches apart. To keep compact, pinch leaves on young plants. Full sun and monthly ferlizing produces best growth and fruiting results.
