| Sedum acre or Golden Carpet Sedum is a very rapidly creeping species forming a mat, too quickly for some rock gardens. The leaves are triangular in cross section, the yellow flowers bloom in early to mid summer. Minor has a shorter habit than the species, growing to 1 inch tall and indefinitely wide. It is a native of North Africa, West Asia and Europe.
Vigorous, evergreen perennial with mat-forming growth habit. Stems are fleshy bearing terminal rosettes of stiff, spoon shaped, silvery or mid green leaves, to 3/4 inch long. Bright yellow flowers are star shaped 1/2 inch across, held on short stems, and borne in flat cymes. Sedums are excellent grown in the rock garden, containers between stepping stones or in wall niches. |
