| Perfoliata is a slowly spreading, creeping rhizomatous perennial with 2-branched stems with downward-pointing, ovate-lance-shaped, perfoliate, mid-green hairless leaves. Produces a few single or paired, pendent tubular-bell-shaped, pale yellow flowers with twisted petals, spreading tips and stamens shorter than styles. In general, these woodland perennials, native to Eastern North America, have pendant yellow flower from mid to late spring. A nice addition to the shade or woodland garden as long as soil in fertile, moist, and well-drained. |
