| Polium is a mound-forming, deciduous subshrub with erect, white- to tawny-woolly stems. Produces linear or oblong to lance-shaped, wrinkled, white-woolly, gray-green leaves 1 1/2 inches long. Purple or yellow flowers are produces in abundant dense, flat-topped, terminal clusters. May be cut to within 2 inches of ground level in the spring to maintain compact growth habit. Excellent as a low hedge. Does best in moist, well drained soil and full sun. Makes nice clipped low hedge in herb garden. |
