| Bulbous herbaceous perennial native to South Africa. Slightly scented white flowers are bell-shaped, tipped and striped with maroon. Mid- to deep green leaves are erect, narrow, grass-like. Can be planted in the border in warm climates, or in containers. Frost tender, requiring minimum temperatures of 36 to 39F. Prefer sunny location and light, well drained soil. Best planted in autumn. Water well during the growing season, sparsely the rest of the year. |
