| 'Spiralis' is a dense, pyramidal to columnar coniferous shrub or small tree with slightly pendulous branches and reddish peeling bark. Yellowish-green, 1/4-1/2 inch long leaves are spirally twisted and occasionally turn bronzy-brown in winter. Produces brown female cones, each containing 3 to 5 seeds. Grows to 20 feet tall with similar spread. Often used as a tall screen, down avenues or as a backdrop for other plantings. |
