| An evergreen tree magnolia, reaching 16-80 feet tall. Branchlets are covered with gray to yellowish fine hairs. Leathery leaves are smooth above, furred below. Small, creamy white flowers are 1 inch across, bloom between June and August.
Native to mountain forests of eastern Puerto Rico. Locally known as 'Sabino', and 'Laurel Sabino'. The wood is used in furniture making. |
