| 'Embers' is a fast growing, hardy, upright tree becoming broadly rounded with age. Reaches 70 feet tall and spreads 30 feet. New foliage emerges vibrant red, turns lustrous dark green in summer and brilliant red in fall. Smooth light gray bark becomes deeply ridged with age. Showy red flowers precede foliage on intriguing reddish branches. Exceptional fall color. An excellent large lawn tree. Native to eastern United States. 'October Glory' (best heat tolerance) and 'Red Sunset' (better in cooler areas) widely available. |
