| Tropical, evergreen perennial with short rhizomes and smooth, leathery, oblong leaves which can reach 16 to 66 inches long. Leaf stalks are maroon. Unusual, 8 to 12 inch long inflorescences, resembling bird's of paradise, hold white and green sepaled flowers. Borne from spring through summer.
Requires a minimum temperature of 59 degrees F. Excellent cut flowers. Native to Venezuela, Ecuador, and Bolivia. |
