| 'Streamco' is a large, suckering, dense, deciduous shrub, to 15' tall and 12' wide. Shoots often have a red tinge. Leaves are oblong, nearly entire, bluish-green, up to 3" long. Narrow, silvery-gray catkins, up to 1 1/4" long, males with purple to yellow anthers. Introduced by the Soil Conservation Service and USDA, this mat-forming shrub is used to control erosion of banks near waterways. Native to Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa. |
