| This vigorous, rhizomatous perennial thrives in moist, humus-rich, fertile soil, in sun or full shade. The more sun there is however, the more important it is for the soil to be moist. In fall, be sure to mulch with a good layer of leaf mold. The fall is also the time to plant individual pips, which should be spaced about 1 to 2 feet apart. Each plant has a pair of 1 1/2-8" long, oval, lance-shaped, hairless, basal leaves. Those of 'Fortin's Giant' are extremely wide. Late spring flowers are white, bell-shaped, pendant, fragrant and waxy. Grows to 12" tall. |
