| Preston Lilacs are a cross between Syringa villosa and Syringa reflexa. They are vigorous, hardy, upright, large shrubs or small trees. Leaves are deep green, oval, to 6 inches long. Early summer blooming flowers come in a wide variety of colors, with a fragrance not typical of lilac. Royalty has brilliant purple blooms held on 4 to 6 inch upright to pendant panicles, borne on current season's growth. Lovely in a shrub border. Various cultivars are available. |
