| Stachyurus praecox is not well known amongst gardeners, but is a fine winter-flowering shrub. It has an arching and rounded habit and is unobtrusive when not in bloom. The flowers are small, pale yellow, appearing in early spring on 2-3 inch pendulous racemes. Fruits are small, yellow-red and berry-like. Prefers moist well drained acidic soil. Native to Japan. |
