|Fast growing, deciduous shrub reaching up to 12 feet in height and 8 feet in width. Leaves are narrowly oval, 3- to 5- lobed, light to medium green and 5 inches long. Grown for the many showy, dark violet-blue flowers. Flower is darker than that of 'Ralph Gould' variety. Blooms spring to summer. This plant was a favorite of Victorians, growing well in bright conservatories and relocated outside in containers during warmer months. Use in shrub border, container garden, or as espalier.
