| Foliage is hard, dull and spiny; normal color is deep yellow green. Leaves are irregularly blotched with vivid yell when in sun, green in shade. Easily sunburned. Trees maintain an upright mounding shape. Fruit is vivid reddish orange and sparse. Gender is female. This holly doesn't do as well as others by the coast. This species doesn't take well to transplanting. Prune in the spring. Check the gender before planting. Not a vigorous plant.
