| Lavatera arborea, depending on the culitvar, may be either a perennial, annual, or biennial. Grown for their showy, 2 to 7 petaled, funnel-shaped, purple-pink summer flowers, the mallow does best when grown in light soil that is moderately fertile and well-drained. Sun should be full. Will not tolerate cold, drying winds. For annuals, sow in situ, mid to late spring, biennials in midsummer. |
