| Acer buergerinum is a rare maple in North America and Europe. One of the most difficult to propagate, Acer buergerinum is a spreading, deciduous tree with 3 1/2-inch dark green leaves above and blue-green on the undersides. Blooms in yellow flowers. The cultivar, 'Goshiki kaede' is a dwarf shrub and does not exceed 3 to 5 feet tall. The leaves are much smaller than the species. 'Goshiki' means "five colored" which is quite appropriate since this cultivar has leaves of variegated, green, white, pink and some are white or pink variegated. |
