| Acer campestre is a slow-growing deciduous tree with dark, oval leaves that turn yellow in the autumn. The 5 lobed leaves are composed of 3 to 5 entire lobes. Blooms in corymbs of 5 green flowers followed by winged fruit. The cultivar, 'Austriacum' is a small tree with corky branches. Leaves are larger than species, light green turning golden yellow in the autumn. It is a useful specimum tree or can be pruned as a hedge. |
