| 'Mary' grows as an upright shrub with arching 12 to 24 inches long stems, covered with drooping, very small, long and tubular, crismon flowers, appearing first in mid summer and continuing to frost. Frequently visited by hummingbirds. It bears eliptic dark green leaves with red-purple veins underneath and are in groups of 2 or 3, and 1 inch long. This is a very graceful, hardy, but delicate looking plant. Mulch heavily where winters are cold. Prune back broken or dead branches in spring, especially on plants that were left outside in areas with mild winters.
