| The Glenn Dale hybrids were bred not only for large, beautiful flowers, but for cold hardiness. Upright, evergreen shrub said to be the hardiest azalea around. Leaves are glossy, dark green, lance-shaped to ovate, around 1 inch long. Flowers are borne in showy trusses from mid to late spring. Plant as you would any of the other azaleas: high and in well-drained, acid soil, rich with organic matter.
Though azaleas have a potentially large list of possible pest and disease problems, they are usually trouble free if planted correctly in proper cultural conditions. |
