| This is an upright or spreading, lightly hairy perennial known for exceptional hardiness, tolerant of poor soils and little water. Foliage is lance-shaped and bluish green, 5 inches long. From late spring to early summer it blooms branched, terminal cymes of star-shaped purplish pink flowers with petals cut into 4 deep linear segments. Often, flowers will remain through first frost. |
