| Hirta is a rhizomatous perennial with hairy stems. Leaves are lance-shaped, veined, hairy, heart-shaped and pale green in color. Produces upright, funnel-shaped, purple-spotted white flowers. In general, Tricyrtis is a woodland perennial resembling false Solomon's Seal in foliage. Flowers are somewhat orchid-like, spotted, 1 inch wide, blooming in late summer or early fall. Flowers bloom at leaf bases and in terminal clusters. They need rich organic soil, and a moist woodland environment. |
