| Macrantha is a tufted perennial with short rhizomes, arching or decumbent, brown-hairy stems. Leaves are ovate to lance-shaped, veined, hairy, dark green in color. Produces pendent, bell-shaped, deep yellow flowers, spotted red-brown inside. In general, Tricyrtis is a woodland perennial resembling false Solomon's Seal in foliage. Flowers are somewhat orchid-like, spotted, 1 inch wide, blooming in late summer or early fall. Flowers bloom at leaf bases and in terminal clusters. They need rich organic soil, and a moist woodland environment. |
