| Clematis cirrhosa is an evergreen climber and belongs to AHS group 1. 2 1/2 inch long single flowers, which are sometimes clustered, are borne on last year's shoots from late winter to spring. Blooms are followed by showy, woolly seed heads which persist through fall. Leaves are glossy, divided into 3 to 5 toothed, lance-shaped or widely oblong leaflets, 3 to 5 inches long. C. cirrhosa and its cultivars are great for trellises and fences, providing much needed brightness after a long, dreary winter. Native to Europe. |
