Rhododendron hybrida
( Elaine Carla Azalea )
| Elaine is a medium-sized, evergreen shrub with showy, large trusses of up to 3, fully double, pale pink flowers, which open from rosy-pink buds and are borne April 16 to 26. The Carla hybrids were produced at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, so the bloom times are based on observations made in this area.
Plant as you would any of the other azaleas: high and in well-drained, acid soil, rich with organic matter. Though azaleas have a potentially large list of possible pest and disease problems, they are usually trouble free if planted correctly in proper cultural conditions. |
