| Spreading deciduous shrub grown for its long clusters of up to 1 foot panicles of fragrant dark purple to violet flowers. Blooms throughout the summer. Graceful, arching branches bear pointed silvery-green leaves to 10 inches long. Reaches 10 feet tall and about 15 feet wide. Ideal for attracting butterflies. Combines well with other perennials, especially daylilies and shasta daisies. This is one plant that thrives on severe pruning. |
