| This is a compact, broad, deciduous medium tree or large shrub grown for its ornamental leaves, brilliant red fall color, and profuse orange-red berries. Grows to 30 feet tall and spreads 22 feet. Leaves are dark green, pinnate, to 10 inches long, with up to 17 elliptic, slightly toothed leaflets. White flowers are borne in corymbs to 6 inches across, followed by round, orange-red fruit. This hardy tree can tolerate heat or cold, strong winds and low humidity. Must have good drainage. Canker and fire blight may be a problem with this plant. Native to Korea and Japan. |
