| Alstroemeria has narrow stem leaves that are twisted at the base with thick tuberous roots. When established, they lilies will send up numerous flowering stems to 2 feet high. The cultivar, 'Sonata', a tuberous perennial blooms in 3- to 8-rayed umbels, each one with 2 to 3 flowers. The petals have green edges with yellow and purple markings, in the summer. |
