Abies balsamea
( Coerulea Balsam Fir )
| 'Coerulea' is a conical shaped tree with short branches, and features needles that are silver underneath. Popular as a Christmas tree, Abies balsamea rarely grows above 50 feet. Lustrous, dark green leaves are 1-inch long, forward pointing. Oblong cones are violet when young, turning reddish-brown. Grows best in cooler climates and plenty of sun. Soil should be acidic. |
