Malus domestica
( Macoun Apple )
| This variety bears a smaller MacIntosh-like fruit with very dark red skin. The flesh is white and richly flavored. Very good for desserts. There are varieties of apples suitable for almost all of the climate zones in the United States. They prefer cold winters, moderate summer and high humidity. Apples are deciduous and must be pollinated in order to produce fruit. Apple trees should be pruned in summer and winter. Codling Moths are one of the most serious apple pests. |
