| 'Huron' (V.lobophyllum x V.japonicum) is a semi-evergreen, densely branched, multiple stemmed shrub that grew 7 1/4 by 9 1/4 feet after 17 years. The leaves are leathery dull dark green that turns to a rich purple in late autumn. White flowers occur in rayed cymes containing 250 to 400 florets per inflorescence. Dark red egg-shaped fruits ripen in August and stay until winter. 'Huron' has a more egg-shaped leaf than the cultivar, 'Chippewa'.
The glossy dark green foliage remains in good shape throughout the seasons. Not very cold hardy, native to Japan. |
