| Spreading deciduous shrub grown for its long clusters of of broad, full, conical panicles of fragrant flowers throughout the summer. Blue to purple panicles up to 1 foot long open from top to bottom at about the same time. Graceful, arching branches bear pointed silvery-green leaves to 10 inches long. Reaches 10 feet tall to about 15 feet wide. Ideal for attracting butterflies. Combines well with other perennials, especially daylilies and shasta daisies. This is one plant that thrives on severe pruning. |
