| This is a spreading deciduous tree grown for its ornamental leaves, great red fall color, and deep red berries. Grows to 30 feet tall. Leaves are deep green on top, woolly-white below, pinnate, to 10 inches long, with up to 15 tapered, lance-shaped leaflets. White flowers are borne in corymbs to 5 inches across, followed by round, deep red fruit. This hardy tree can tolerate heat or cold, strong winds and low humidity. Must have good drainage. Canker and fire blight may be a problem with this plant. Native to China. |
