| Upright annual. Leaves are deep green, stems are succulent and 7 to 9 palmate, with wedge-shaped leaflets to 3 inches long. Grown for their brilliant display of yellow centered, dark violet sweet pea shaped flowers on tall spikes in spring and early summer. Wonderful cottage garden additions, eye-catching when planted in large masses. Other than requiring good drainage, not fussy about soil. Can start from seed in winter or early spring. |
