|Gladiolus are grown for their flowers that bloom on spikes 2 to 3 feet tall and need staking at times. The flowers being arranged along the spike all face the same way. Their leaves are formed in a sharp point and takes its name from the Latin gladius, meaning a sword. The cultivar, 'Hawaii' blooms in glowing blood-red with a sheen of rich crimson on the tongue of the lower petals in the midseason.
Important Info : If grown in an open, sunny location where they are not bothered by strong winds, they can be used anywhere in the garden.
