| In the summer the species verticillata bears branched racemes of violet to lilac blue flowers 3/8 inches long in circular arrangement of 20-40 blooms. This erect herbaceaus perennial in egg-shaped to flat soft hairy green leaves. Salvia can be planted in a sunny border, in a meadow or used for bedding and container planting. Best in fertile, humus, moist but well drained soil. |
