| Speciosa is an evergreen twining climber with sparsely branced stems and branched leaves, each with 5 widely obovate, thick, lustrous, deep green leaflets. Produces light yellow-green flowers with downy lobes in dense racemes. In general, this tropical, evergreen flowering vine climbs by twining and is grown primarily for its trumpet or funnel-shaped, 5 lobed flowers that hang in pendent racemes from bare branches. Leaves on younger plants are skimpy, but fill in with age. Leaves are medium green, oval, pinnate, and opposite. Soil should be moist, well-drained, and fertile. Plants do best in full sun with some midday shade. Prune only when needed to keep plant in good shape. |
